AQUILA

Brand Identity, Visual Communication

2024-2026

Role

Art Direction, Brand Design, UX/UI Design, Web Designer

Brief

As the in-house designer, I started by revamping the old logo and defining the visual identity of AQUILA, a Fintech startup supporting sustainable development.

My main task after that was to handle the UX/UI for an upcoming ESG performance monitoring dashboard.

Usual tasks include: webdesign, produce visuals for presentations (type PPT), social media, etc.

At a glance

Situation

The company had a logo and some communication supports but it lacked coherence.

The dashboard project was in its infancy.

Insights

Bluntly speaking, the old logo was doing the job but it didn’t scream credibility and reliability. Moreover, it didn’t reflect the company’s rising presence in the industry. That was the initial priority.

As for the dashboard, since the users were predicted to be all pieces in the sustainable investment chain (funds, consultants, borrowers), it had to fit very different needs while staying coherent.

Logo, Style guide

The original typeface has been replaced by a more modern and usable option (Open Sans). One deciding factor: most of the visual assets are intended to be translated (Latin alphabet only) so the font had to be multilingual.

The lines in the leaf refer to AQUILA’s placement as a link in the sustainability network. All of the images recommended reflect that point. Looking like another greenwashing project was the first thing I wanted to avoid, as it was the opposite of what the company wanted to achieve.

Dashboard & Other assets

Dashboard

The first version of the dashboard targeted primarily businesses in the hospitality industry. These companies often report difficulties in optimizing their energy consumption and waste production.

*Since then, we split up in 2 departments and the project became the Climate Impact Terminal.

Social media

The company is very active on LinkedIn.
